ERA PerMed: 4th call is open!

The submission deadline for pre-proposals is March 4, 2021. The full proposals to be prepared in the 2nd stage upon invitation must be submitted by June 17, 2021. 30 funding organizations from 23 countries took part in the call, including Brazil and Chile as of this year. The Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism also intends to participate again as a funding organization for Saxon universities and research institutions and is providing up to 4 million euros for the 2th call (according to the EuProNet directive; the availability of the funds is subject to the decision on the 2021/2022 budget). The total budget for the 4th call is around 20 million euros.

The call is intended to fund transnational and interdisciplinary research projects in the field of personalized medicine with clinical relevance. Using information and communication technologies and the (further) development of innovative data solutions, new concepts and approaches are to be researched that can facilitate the implementation of personalized medicine in the clinic. It is (optionally) provided that the knowledge base can also be expanded so that, as in the previous calls, a combination of basic research relevant to the project and clinically oriented research is possible. The integration of research on ethical, legal and social issues related to the project is mandatory; Optionally, relevant health economic questions can also be processed.

The research consortia must include at least 3 partners from 3 participating countries. The projects can be set up for a maximum of 3 years.
