More AI in German companies

In a consortium project with KEX Knowledge Exchange AG, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS supports AI users with a large portfolio of measures to further develop their skills in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Interested companies can register now. The project start is in September 2020.

Companies that are already using methods of artificial intelligence or are interested in doing so can now become part of the Saxony consortium project "AI: understand - apply - benefit" and effectively use the enormous potential of AI technologies for themselves. Together with the professional knowledge service provider KEX AG, the Fraunhofer IIS/EAS from Dresden supports companies with this project in finding their individually optimal way to use AI, to use it profitably and thus to secure competitive advantages. The size of the company is not decisive for project participation.

In the consortium project, the participants determine the direction and priorities of the work. On the one hand, the companies receive valuable know-how in the form of training courses and an application study. But the project also offers numerous other added values for the establishment of AI in companies. As a result, they not only receive a comprehensive overview of relevant AI application options, current market events, trends and business models. In addition to individual "AI readiness workshops" for each company, the project managers also point out very specific fields of action and tailor-made solution options, for example to accelerate their own product or process development. A selection of jointly defined application examples is also implemented as a prototype in the project.

In addition, the connecting activities of the partners to support each individual are to be continued even after the end of the project. To this end, further overarching AI projects are to be initiated or the design of an AI application center and tailor-made further education formats are to be jointly designed.

The consortium project, which will run for nine months, will start with the AI Innovation Days on September 16 and 17, 2020. The event, which will take place as a combination of a live event in Dresden and a virtual format, forms the framework for the official project start. Here, the partners involved can already establish contacts with top-class AI players from business, research and politics, who share their expertise, best practice examples and strategic considerations with the event participants.
